FACULTY OF COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL & RATIONAL EMOTIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

The Centre for Stress Management has been running a cognitive behavioural and rational emotive behavioural therapy training programme since 1987. These courses have been at introductory Primary Certificate, Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma levels.  The extended programmes are modular permitting a flexible attendance schedule for course delegates and and enrolled students.

WHY TRAIN WITH THE CENTRE & FACULTY?

We have been running CBT and REBT courses at the Centre for a couple of decades. Our courses are taught by experienced CBT and REBT Trainers and Therapists who are on the CBT Register UK.

Our courses are recognised externally.

COURSE RECOGNITION & APPROVAL

The extended programmes run by The Centre are recognised by the Association for Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. The Centre's courses are approved by the British Psychological Society Learning Centre for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

STAFF

Director of the Faculty of Cognitive Behavioural and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy is Professor Stephen Palmer PhD CPsychol, co-author of Brief Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (Sage) and Stress Counselling: A Rational Emotive Behaviour Approach (Sage). Trainers on the programme include Nick Edgerton, Michael Neenan, Kasia Szymanska and Irene Tubbs. The trainers are all accredited in CBT and/or REBT and are on the UK CBT Register. Courses are run in London, England; Edinburgh, Scotland and Wellington, New Zealand. Courses are also run in-house for organisations and psychology departments.

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS

The Centre for Stress Management, has international collaborative relationships with a number of Centres of Expertise. We work together on research and publications. 

NEW ZEALAND CENTRE FOR COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY

The Centre for Stress Management and it's Faculty has an international collaborative relationship with the New Zealand Centre for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The collaboration has included publishing work on using CBT and REBT for suicide prevention. Click here for more details.
